3. EARNINGS (LOSS) PER SHARE
The calculation of the basic earnings (loss) per share is based on the net
profit for the period of HK$4,237,000 (2001: net loss of HK$1,382,000) and
on 249,000,000 (2001: 249,000,000) shares in issue during the period.
Diluted loss per share for 2001 was not presented as the effect of
exercise of the share options would be anti-dilutive in respect of the
period.

Certain comparative figures have been reclassified to conform with
current period's presentation.
