3. Profit after taxation and minority interest in current period is
arrived at after crediting an exceptional gain of HK$52.4 million of
additional profit derived from the disposal by the Company of a 26.2%
interest in Asia Aluminum Group Limited, a major subsidiary of the Company
engaging in the manufacturing and sales of aluminum extrusion and
stainless steel business.
Profit after taxation and minority interest in prior period included a
profit of HK$8.7 million arisen in the disposal of a discontinued business
in environmental protection products.

The calculation of the basic and diluted earnings per share is based on

5. The directors of the Company declared an interim dividend of HK
1.5 cents and a special dividend of HK 1.0 cent for the Period, payable to
shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members on 7 April
2003. Dividend warrants are to be dispatched to shareholders on or before
