ALPHA GENERAL<00073> - Unusual price & volume movements

The Stock Exchange has received a message from Alpha General (Holdings) 
Limited which is reproduced as follows:-

"This statement is made at the request of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong 
Limited (the "Stock Exchange").

We have noted the increase in the price and trading volume of Alpha General 
(Holdings) Limited (the "Company") and wish to state that we are not aware 
of any reasons for such unusual movements in the price of the shares of the 
Company.

We wish to inform the shareholders and potential investors of the Company 
that the Company has announced a privatisation proposal by way of a scheme 
of arrangement on 13 October 2004 in the newspapers. Save for the 
aforesaid proposal, we confirm that there are no negotiations or 
agreements relating to intended acquisitions or realisations which are 
discloseable under Rule 13.23 of the Rules Governing the Listing of 
Securities on the Stock Exchange (the "Listing Rules"), neither is the 
board of directors of the Company (the "Board") aware of any matter 
discloseable under the general obligation imposed by Rule 13.09 of the 
Listing Rules, which is or may be of a price-sensitive nature.

Shareholders and potential investors of the Company are advised to 
exercise caution in dealing in shares of the Company.

As at the date of this announcement, the Board comprises seven directors, 
of which (i) four are executive directors of the Company, namely
Mr. Chu Ka Lok, Peter, Mr. Wat Hon Keung, Mr. Chan Kai Kwok and Ms. Chu 
Maria Teresa, and (ii) three are independent non-executive 
directors of the Company, namely Mr. Chan Chi Keung, Chris, Dr. Wu Shu 
Chih, Alex and Mr. Kwok Ping Ki, Albert."
