HENDERSON CHINA<00246> - Suspension of Trading

At the request of Henderson China Holdings Limited (the "HCHL"),
trading in its shares has been suspended with effect from 9:30 a.m. today
(17/5/2005) pending release of an announcement "relating to a proposed 
privatization of HCHL by Henderson Land Development Company Limited at a 
price of HK$7.50 (Hong Kong Dollars Seven and Cents Fifty) in cash per 
share in HCHL".
