Remarks:

1.      Listing date

People's Food Holdings Limited's ordinary shares were listed on the 
Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited and The Stock Exchange of 
Hong Kong Limited on 14 March 2001 and 28 October 2002, respectively.

2.      Basis of consolidation

The audited annual results for the year ended 31 December 2005 comprise 
the financial information of People's Food Holdings Limited and all of its 
subsidiaries (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Group") for 
that year.

All significant intra-group transactions and balances are eliminated on 
consolidation.

3.      The revenue and profit for the year are wholly derived from the 
Group's continuing operations.

4.      Earnings per share

        Basic earnings per share for the year ended 31 December 2005 is 
calculated based on the Group's profit for the year of approximately RMB 
736,766,000 (2004: approximately RMB 616,243,000) divided by the weighted 
average number of 1,131,590,476 ordinary shares of HK$0.50 each (2004: 1,
133,324,723 ordinary shares of HK$0.50 each) in issue during the financial 
year.

        Diluted earnings per share for the years ended 31 December 2005 
and 2004 have not been calculated as no diluting events existed during 
these years.
