SHIMAO INT'L<00649> - Suspension of Trading

At the request of Shimao International Holdings Limited (the "Company"),
trading in its shares has been suspended with effect from 9:30 a.m. today
(18/4/2006) pending the release of an announcement in relation to a 
transaction entered into by the Company which constitutes a major 
transaction of the Company according to the Rules Governing the Listing  
of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
